Warehouse shelving usage and maintenance standards
Jul 08,2025
Clarify the shelf usage system. Different warehouses, different goods, and shelves in each warehouse have different usage methods. Warehouse management personnel must establish a shelf usage system that every shelf user can learn and comply with.
Equip a set of anti-collision columns according to different shelves, aisle widths, and transportation vehicles. Install crash barriers at the passage.
Regularly apply protective paint to reduce rust, conduct daily inspections, promptly repair loose screws, ventilate in a timely manner, and maintain the warehouse to avoid excessive moisture.
Heavy duty and high-rise shelving warehouses must be equipped with power carts. The use and operation of the trolley must be carried out by certified personnel. The vast majority of warehouse shelf columns that are deformed due to collisions are caused by non designated personnel using carts.
Avoid excessive sunlight exposure, ventilate the shelves appropriately, prevent wet goods from being placed on the shelves, and try to drain and dehumidify as much as possible.
The weight of the goods placed on the shelf must be within the load-bearing range of the shelf. The warehouse clerk shall mark the load-bearing and load limit signs on the shelves. We must follow the principle of placing heavy objects below light objects on the shelves, that is, placing heavy objects below and light objects above.
